De Heerlyckheid.

€2,450.00

De Heerlyckheid tells a story regarding the Covid era.
A time of what Claessen calls ‘The luxury war’. A war against the unvisible, a war locked up from our golden cage: Home. Thanks to the invention of internet most of us could continue work from home.

This work is made according the principals of ‘de Stijl’ by Gerrit Rietveld & Piet Mondriaan. De Stijl (/də ˈstaɪl/; Dutch pronunciation: [də ˈstɛil]), Dutch for "The Style", also known as Neoplasticism, was a Dutch art movement founded in 1917 in Leiden. De Stijl consisted of artists and architects. In a more narrow sense, the term De Stijl is used to refer to a body of work from 1917 to 1931 founded in the Netherlands. Proponents of De Stijl advocated pure abstractionand universality by a reduction to the essentials of form and colour; they simplified visual compositions to vertical and horizontal, using only black, white and primary colors.

The work embraces luxury and portrays emotion of a lost time catched in gold.

Material: oil & 24K Noris blattgold on linen.
Measurements: 60x40 cm
Year: 2021.
